“The 2021 Asiram is 100% Merlot from deep blue/olive-hued clay soils. Black cherry, plum, leather and spice are all dialed up. The 2021 opens up considerably with air, showing all the potential I sensed from the barrel sample last year and offering striking aromatic presence. Copious red-toned fruit, rose petal, blood orange, chalk, white pepper and pomegranate all confer notable energy and vibrancy to complement the wine's textural opulence. Production is just four barrels.”
