Community Guidelines
Help people buy and enjoy wine
Share tasting notes, bottle condition, pairings, producer context, deal observations, and respectful questions. Keep durable wine-page comments relevant to that wine. Marathon Live can be more conversational, but it still needs to be useful and welcoming.
Not allowed
- Harassment, hateful conduct, threats, or targeted abuse.
- Spam, scams, impersonation, or deceptive links.
- Explicit, graphic, dangerous, or illegal content.
- Publishing private information or evading a moderation action.
- Repeated off-topic disruption or automated posting.
Identity and editing
Your account name and photo are public by default. You may use a visible community alias instead; an alias hides your profile photo and uses an initial avatar. You can only change your alias once every 30 days, and changes apply to your earlier posts.
Wine comments and replies can be edited or deleted by their authors at any time. Edits are labeled and prior versions are retained for administrators investigating abuse. Marathon messages cannot be edited because the replay should preserve the live exchange, but authors may delete them at any time.
Reports and moderation
Use Report for content that breaks these guidelines, not for disagreement. Reports are private. Multiple qualifying reports may temporarily hide a post until review. Moderators may restore or remove content, dismiss reports, time out an account, suspend participation, slow or pause Marathon chat, and enable Shield Mode. Those actions are recorded in an audit history.
Appeals
To appeal a removal or account restriction, email winebuyerapp [at] gmail [dot] com with your account email, the post link if available, and why you believe the decision should be reviewed.
