Decanter93 pts

A serious Pinot Gris from the Grace Benoist Ranch site in Carneros is evocative of wines from Alsace, much more than American Pinot Gris. The Alsatian clones certainly help. Aromas of almond skin, beeswax, and rich pear flesh speak to this wine's bonafides. The palate is rich and complex. Smoky stone minerality, rich lemon curd, lanolin, and poached pear nod to this wine's brilliant depth and ageability.

Gun metal and flint with some almond paste on the nose. Medium body, firm and fresh with density and a bone dry finish. Lovely balance. Drink now. Screw cap.
