“A truly classic expression of Howell Mountain, with bold black and blue fruit aromatics, dark chocolate, and loamy earth. Rich, juicy, and generous on the palate, it leads with alluring blueberry and muddled blackberry, carrying that intense, chocolatey quality so emblematic of the appellation. The tannins, while present, are surprisingly supple, ripe, and well integrated—a hallmark of the 2022 vintage, when intense heat swept through the valley over Labor Day weekend. Remarkably, this wine emerges cool, suave, and unscathed, with a welcome sense of approachability and ease. It’s dangerously hard to put down.”
