“Carretta is a large company with extensive vineyards in the Roero as well as the Langhe. It's proud of its 2.5ha in Barolo's Cannubi vineyard, from which it produces a regular Barolo and this Riserva. The nose is richly perfumed, infused with raspberries and strawberries, and seems gently oaky. The attack is svelte, leading to a palate that's rich and concentrated, giving an elegant style without excessive extraction. Polished tannins and ample drive on the finish.”
