“The 2008 is in a perfect place, with soft, velvety tannins, though still a little closed and coiled. Tasted from magnum, the wine is polished, sleek and dark-fruited, showing many of the traits of the 2006: tobacco, walnut husk, anise, primary blue and black fruit, layered dried violets and rich loamy earth. Attractive, full-bodied and generous, from this exceptional vineyard atop Spring Mountain, it is a remarkable wine if you can secure it — one to hold for the next 20 to 30 years and enjoy throughout that time.
