“This is a shockingly youthful wine. Tasted from magnum, it still shows incredibly primary blue- and black-fruit character, super-clean and wrapped in a cloak of velvety tannins. Fine cedarwood notes are layered with nuances of walnut husk, hay, tobacco, dried currants, loamy earth, and anise, making this one of the freshest, most focused wines from the 2006 vintage I have tasted. Dynamic, complex, and remarkably youthful, it is enjoyable now but will easily cellar for another 20 years or more.”
