“Broad-shouldered and powerful, sporting high-toned aromas of Morello cherries, raspberry, and mocha spices with hints of toasty cedar wood. Plush darkberry fruit broadens with palate-coating penetration and layered with a deep vein of ironstone minerality. Perfectly ripe tannins are framed by the wine's fragrant minerality, and the finish is long, salty, and tinged with succulent dried herbs. This is the richest of the last few vintages but retains the fresh acid tension of the vintage. Situated above Sonoma Valley in the Moon Mountain AVA, organically farmed vineyards and olive groves surround wine caves. This blend is a selection from their Poggio alla Pietra estate vineyard. Founded by the late Lorenzo Petroni. The winemaker is New Zealand native Martin Mackenzie.”
