“The 2022 Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre (North Coast) is a bold, punchy wine. A blast of dark fruit and brusing tannin makes a strong opening statement. There's a lot to the 2022, but it is also a wine that needs to be opened well in advance or cellared for a year or two if possible. Cedar, pipe tobacco, dried herbs and coffee linger on the brooding finish. The blend is 55% Jemrose (Bennett Valley) and 45% Hawks Butte (Yorkville Highlands).”
