“From proprietor and winemaker Rosemary Cakebread comes a structured, precise, and focused Cabernet Sauvignon—a remarkable achievement in the warm 2022 growing season. This wine delivers classic Cabernet character with blackberry and black cherry notes, accented by sage, graphite, and white pepper spices. Medium-bodied, it features velvety, superfine tannins and a lovely lifted floral finish. Stylistically, consumers and collectors will find no significant difference between this and the 2021 vintage, apart from a slightly more approachable and juicy profile, reflective of the warmer vintage. Sourced from the Gallica estate on the western side of St. Helena, the Clone 4 Cabernet vines have thrived in deep Cortina soils since 1990. The blend comprised of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Cabernet Franc and was aged for 19 months in 14% new French oak.”
