“Well-balanced, appetizing and delicious, this pinot is driven by ripe black fruit on a medium to full body. Black cherries, blueberries and a touch of cranberries give it plenty to appreciate, while light tannins and good acidity keep it fresh. Drink or hold.”
“Black cherry, cranberry, and damp earth tones get things started on the nose here, and they carry through to the palate in bright food-friendly style thanks to popping fresh acidity. It is quite dark in color – on the garnet side of the red spectrum, but the flavors are bright and breezy. Give it a good decant if going in young, or cellar for five to ten years. Contains clones 115, Calera, Pommard and Swan.”
“The 2021 Fort Ross Pinot Noir ‘FRV’ s a full-bodied and expressive wine, aged for 15 months in 35% new French oak barrels. It pours a light to medium glowing ruby core with a light red-blue rim. Aromatically, it offers a delightful mix of red and black cherries, mountain huckleberries, toasted anise, and cedary herbs. On the palate, the present tannins are beginning to integrate beautifully, while lush acidity rounds out the finish. This Pinot Noir is well-structured and balanced, offering impressive depth and elegance in each sip.”
“A semi-opaque ruby with a light haze, the 2021 Pinot Noir Fort Ross Vineyard is ripe and spicy, with smoky incense, pine, licorice, and black cherry. This full-bodied Pinot packs in loads of ripe blackberries, toasted cedar, and tea leaf with ripe tannins, dusty earth, and a bit of orange peel on the finish. Drink 2024-2030.”
“Toasted nori, black tea and plum aromas dominate the nose of this wine. The palate is plush and rich, with black cherry jam, spicy cola and black pepper flavors in a full-bodied framework. Pair this powerful example of coastal Pinot Noir with a grilled ribeye.”
