“The 2017 Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon from Conn Creek is sleek, polished, and very attractive. A panoply of warming wild mountain herbs fills the senses, coupled with rich volcanic mineral notes, red currant fruit, and unsmoked tobacco. It is medium-bodied with ripe, sweet, fine-grained tannins and tobacco-tinged black cherry, cinnamon-spiced plums, and apricot jam. More savoury notes fill in the gaps, calling to mind red liquorice, pink peppercorn, and Himalayan sea salt. It is long and layered and quite delicious.”
