“A terrifically flashy and opulent wine from Napa's Mt. Veeder appellation, giving off loads of purple florals, blackberry fruit, loamy earth, and toasty oak. Full-bodied and full-throttle on the attack, with angular mountain tannins etching themselves onto the palate, resolving with mineral-laced black cherry and plum fruits, violets, and sage with a hint of just-turned earthy hummus. Founded in 1973, Conn Creek winery is situated on the eastern side of Napa Valley, just off the Silverado Trail. Best known for its Bordeaux-styled wines, Elizabeth DeLouise-Gant has been winemaker since 2017. Previously, she worked at Beaulieu Vineyard, Tamber Bey, and Stag's Leap Wine Cellars.”
