“Very pretty aromas of raspberries and light vanilla with some violets, following through to a medium to full body with lovely fruit and a fine finish. Creamy tannins. 85% merlot, 10% cabernet franc and 5% malbec. Drink after 2023, but already very pretty and classy.”

“The 2018 Château du Gazin, not to be confused with the similarly titled Pomerol, has a well-defined bouquet of blackberry, briar and light rose petal scents; this has attained more precision since I tasted it from barrel. The palate is medium-bodied with black-pepper-tinged red fruit, pencil lead and quite a saline finish. A well-focused, thoroughly enjoyable Canon-Fronsac that should give 8–10 years of drinking pleasure.”
