“Freshly mown hay, licorice and leather aromas augment the flavors of plum and cherry in this square-shouldered red. Balanced in its broad profile, with ample fruit to counter the dense tannins. Tar and menthol accents emerge on the mineral-tinged aftertaste. Best from 2025 through 2048. 1,200 cases made, 50 cases imported.”

The 2017 Barolo Bussia is balanced and bright, showing a very clean and honest portrayal of this large vineyard site that extends to both the villages of Monforte d'Alba and Barolo. This wine is characterized by a tight and silky texture, with delicate wild cherry and blueberry accents. There are pretty hints of savory spice and campfire ash that last many long minutes. This 5,000-bottle release is a great debut effort from Cascina Adelaide.”
