“The aptly named JUSTINTIME red arrives just in time for those seeking an easy-drinking young Napa Cabernet with serious winemaking pedigree. This wine is sourced mainly from Atlas Peak, crafted by Morgan Maureze, who trained under Andy Erickson (Favia, Screaming Eagle) and now helms Seven Apart. It blends 90% Cabernet Sauvignon with 7% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. Aged for 12 months in 40% new French oak, just 475 cases were produced. It showcases the power of Atlas Peak through its robust tannin structure and the depth and concentration of high-elevation fruit. Savoury spices intermingle with blackcurrants, iron-rich minerality, and pressed wildflowers, while wild forest berries, spiced plum, and cherry flood the mid-palate with fantastic depth. The finish is energetic and lengthy, marked by violets, crushed cocoa nibs, vanilla, and baking spices—all wrapped in a superbly tasty wine to enjoy now and over the next 6–8 years.”
