Alma Rosa Pinot Noir Radian Vineyard Sta. Rita Hills 2022

“The vivid ruby-hued 2022 Pinot Noir Radian comes from a great site located on the western end of the Sta. Rita Hills and was destemmed and raised in 40% new French oak. It has an incredibly mineral-laced nose of wild strawberries, crushed stone, graphite, and leather, with some background floral nuances. Its purity, precision, and overall balance are a step up over the other releases here, and it has gorgeous mid-palate depth, ripe yet building tannins, and a great finish. It's up with some of the finest Pinot Noirs in the vintage and will benefit from a year or two in the cellar and evolve for a solid decade.”

“So structured and lively, with firm tannins and acidity and vivid red and black fruit, orange zest and cinnamon flavors. It's fresh, crunchy, linear and alive. Black cherries, rosemary, sour cherries and star anise. Will drink better with more time. Drinkable now, but best from 2029.”

“Lush aromas of dark boysenberry, crushed rock and light herbs are extremely polished on the nose of this wine. The palate is bold with baked berry and plum flavors spiced by star anise and cardamom, all framed by tense tannins.”
