“From the Rockpile AVA, a tiny, rugged Sonoma appellation overlooking Lake Sonoma, with roughly 160 acres planted at elevations of 800–2,100 feet. Its rocky, well-drained soils, exposure above the fog, and cool maritime influence produce especially concentrated, structured wines. With Russell Bevan in the cellar, the wine is downright delicious: full-bodied, polished, and well-endowed with robust tannins that build throughout the wine all the way to a full-bodied, soaring tannic finish. In between, there are notes of blue-black fruit co-mingling with dark, loamy earth, all wrapped in noble oak spices, clearly very expensive French wood, and finishing with rich dark chocolate and crushed cocoa nib notes. Simply put: Delicious. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged 30 months in 100% new French oak. (To be published in September 2026)”
